Static vs dynamic QR codes
A static QR code stores your link or text directly in its pattern. It works offline, works forever and can't be switched off by anyone. A dynamic QR code stores a short link to the provider's server, which redirects to your page; that lets you edit the destination and count scans, but the code breaks if the subscription ends.
For menus, flyers, business cards and packaging, a static code pointing at a page you own is the safest choice. Print it dark on a light background and test a printed copy before a large run.
