Code 39 Barcode Generator
Make a Code 39 barcode, also called Code 3 of 9, for ID badges, part numbers and asset labels. Type capital letters, digits or symbols and download a PNG or SVG.
How it works
- 1Type your data using capital letters, digits, spaces or - . $ / + %.
- 2Choose the bar height and whether to show the text under the bars.
- 3Download a PNG for badges and labels, or an SVG for print.
Where Code 39 is still used
Code 39 is one of the oldest barcodes, and it stays in use because many standards were written around it: automotive part labels, US military and government asset tags, employee ID badges, and hospital wristbands and specimen labels. It needs no check digit, so it's easy to produce from almost any system.
For new labels where you choose the format, Code 128 is more compact and supports lowercase. Use Code 39 when a customer, scanner setup or industry spec asks for it.
