How it works

DotCode or Data Matrix?
Data Matrix and QR Code are built from touching square modules, which a fast inkjet coder can smear into each other. DotCode's separate dots tolerate that, so it reads where a Data Matrix printed at the same speed wouldn't. If your printer makes clean squares, Data Matrix is scanned by far more devices.
